Limestone distribution on Madagascar. The yellow areas along the west coast are Tertiary and Mesozoic limestones and marls. The center and the east coast are igneous and metamorphic rocks, with some marbles in the center of the island, coloured in dark yellow.
This map is based on Besaire, 1964, and a map of the simplified Geology of Madagaskar by David Du Puy and Justin Moat.
