Skåne län (Skåne County) is the southernmost county of Sweden and the Scandinavian peninsula. The surrounding sea is divided by the cape into the Baltic Sea to the east and south and the Oresund strait in the west. Being so far south and surrounded by the sea, this county has the warmest climate of the country, with vast fertile plains and deciduous forests. As a result it is highly populated, home to 13% of Swedens population with only 3% of the surface area.
