Hiroshima Prefecture - Hiroshima-ken

Hiroshima Prefecture is located in the Chūgoku region of Honshu island,at the southern end of the island bordering the south coast on the Seto Inland Sea across from the island of Shikoku. The name is well known, because Hiroshima, the capital and largest city of the prefecture, was the place of the atomic bombing in 1945 by the U.S.A. There are some coastal plains and wide valleys, but most of the prefecture is covered by mountains.
