The Jerusalem District is a complicated and strange construct. The city is considered a major religious center by three world religions, and each wants control over it. The result is constant fighting and claims and a rather complicated political situation. Although we generally follow political boundaries, just for convenience’s sake, we have decided to simply list all the places of interest in greater Jerusalem under this district.

We are aware that there may be difficulties to visit a site, which will change and probably increase in the future, but we are not able to do this research for you. If you intend to visit any of these sites, please check yourself, if and how it is accessible, we will not provide any info on the political situation. We will do the research on the geological and historical background of the sites and provide the results.

However, there was one sight which qualified for showcaves.com and we started a page. Unfortunately we read that it was purchased by an Arab who fenced it off and does not allow Jewish visitors, but all others. We understand that there are resentments, but this is absurd. We do not support such behaviour and do not list sites, which do not allow visitors of specific ethnicity or religion. We will not list such sites, because they are not accessible for all tourists.
