Perth and Kinross

Pairth an Kinross

Perth and Kinross mostly corresponds to the historic counties of Perthshire and Kinross-shire, except for a large area of south-western Perthshire. Perth is the capital. Split by the Highland Boundary Fault into a more mountainous northern part and a flatter southern part, the northern area is a popular tourist spot. The southern part is farmland. The crystalline rocks are not suitable for caves, there is a megalithic cavern which is thought to be Bruce's Cave, and an abandoned mine which is a famous filming location. Even the number of mines is very low, as there are no valuable resources, not even slate. So despite its size, the county has only three sites.
