Martinique

Martinique is an island in the Lesser Antilles of the West Indies, in the eastern Caribbean Sea. The Lesser Antilles are a chain of islands which makes a huge bow from the Dominican Republic to Venezuela. Geologically they are at the outer edge of the Caribbean Plate, the Lesser Antilles Volcanic Arc, so the island is of volcanic origin. The island has no caves which are open to tourists. There are some small caves but as the island is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 2021 for its entire land and sea territory, and there are bats in the caves which are protected, it’s not possible to enter them. There are also no mines and no subterranea. Obviously there are some sea caves along the coast which might be visited by boat, but there is no outstanding cave worth listing.
