San Salvador


San Salvador Island belongs to the Bahamas and is located at 24.0 N, 74.5 W. The island is 20 km long, 10 km wide, and has a maximum elevation of 46 m. Much of the interior of the island is made up of lakes. San Salvador Island is noted for its extensive karst topography with many caves. Most caves are connected to the sea, and water inside the caves rises and falls with the tide.
