Like other caves in the Saxon Switzerland the Diebshöhle (Thiefs Cave) at the Kleiner Bärenstein (Small Bear Rock) was once the hideout of a thief, at least according to legend. The cave is also called Götzingerhöhle in honor of Magister Wilhelm Leberecht Götzinger (1758-1818), who made this landscape world famous with his descriptions. The cave is the result of a rock fall, which created a sort of huge overhanging rock.
