The Wabasha Street Caves are located in the bluffs along the Mississippi River on St. Paul's West Side. Originally quarries used to mine silica, the caves were during the 19th century used as a mushroom farm. A part of the cave hosted the nightclub The Castle Royal, which was frequented by the St. Paul underworld.
