History

1868silver discovered in the mountains of Park City. 1870first lead-silver mines established. 1872mining entrepreneur George Hearst paid $27,000 for the Ontario Mine and became rich. 1929mining prices started to decline during the Great Depression. 1981Ontario mine closed.
