Crystall Ball Cave got its name from the curious speleothems found in it, which look like gigantic crystal-encrusted puff-balls. Those speleothems are definitely the most interesting feature of the cave.
The cave was discovered by the owner, Thomas Sims, who searched for a lost sheep. He found an open sinkhole, which led him to the cave. He installed a generator for electric light, but the cave is very wild and impossible to find without a guide.
