Donetsk Oblast


Донецька область (Donetsk Oblast) is located in eastern Ukraine, at the border to Russia. The oblast produces more than half of the coal, coke, cast iron, and finished steel in Ukraine. The most important coalfield is the Bogdanovskoye coalfield. But there are other resources like rock salt, limestone, gypsum, potassium, mercury, asbestos, and graphite.
