Description

The Serinn is a small hotel with only five cave room, which were carefully renovated. The hotel is called the first boutique designer hotel of Ürgüp, which we could not really understand as there are numerous cave hotel at this town. Probably it means that this is the only hotel of a category locally called boutique hotel, which means something between museum and comfortable accomodation with cosy atmosphere, which is decorated with modern designer furniture. The hotel is owned by a woman, Eren Serpen, who worked for decades in the travel industry and has now returned to her home country. She speaks English and Italian.

The hotel was carefully renovated by the Turkish architect Rifat Ergör, who has some local fame. The furniture includes chairs by Vitra and Ron Arad, black chandeliers by the Dutch design firm Moooi, and plastic drawers by Werner Aisslinger. Definitely a pro for the frequent traveller are the orthopaedic beds and the wireless internet access.

Breakfast is served at the terrace overlooking Ürgüp, on the rare occasions of bad weather and during winter in the room behind. The menu is created by the renowned Turkish chef Defne Koryürek.
