12-FEB-1980		area declared a National Park.

Description

Tham Than Lot National Park has two caves, Than Lot Noi Cave and Than Lot Yai Cave. The caves are accessible through a 2.5-kilometer nature trail along the stream. One of the caves even has the worlds tallest stalagmite.

The best time of the year to visit the caves is from February to April. While it is possible to visit the trail self guided, it is recommended to take a park ranger as a guide. Tham Than Lot National Park is also called Chaloem Rattanakosin National Park. It has an area of 54km² with pristine forest, waterfalls, and numerous caves.
