There are numerous sea caves on the south coast of Portugal. The local limestone supports many caves, arches and natural tunnels. Many boats run tourist cruises and visit these caves. Some even carry smaller boats so that at low tide it is possible to sail through them. The main tourist attractions appear to be the caves of Ponta da Piedade, Algar Seco and Carvalho.
