These are underground fortifications built by the Germans during World War II. They are also known as the Ostwall (East Wall). They consist of multi-storey bunkers and tunnels. The tourist is taken on a route through the ”Scharnhorst„ Bunkers. This area is a large winter quarters for bats in Europe. A part of this area is designated as the ”Wild Life Sanctuary Nietoperek„. Between May and October there is an exhibition of exotic live bats which includes vampire bats. There is a permanent exhibition of bats, weapons, guns, tanks, rockets etc. Other facilities include Gift shop, Cafe, paid parking, torch rental and sale of torches and batteries.
