Nord-Trøndelag

Nord-Trøndelag borders Sweden to the east and the Norwegian Sea to the west. It has several fjords and some islands off the coast. The largest river is Namsen, one of the best salmon rivers in Europe.

There was some early iron mining between 1st and 5th century, but no later mining. Some patches of marble in the metamorphic rocks are karstified and a river cave is guided on cave trekking tours.
