Eesti Vabariik

Republic of Estonia

Estonia is a country in the Baltic region of Northern Europe. Located close to Finland the Estonians are a Finnic people closely related to the Finns. The Estonian language is rather similar to Finnish.

Estonia has a geologic and geographic situation which does not favour the formation of big caves. The country has numerous small ones, but no show cave and no other cave of special touristic interest. There are karst areas though and there is one seasonal spring of nationwide fame which we listed.

Most of the rock outcrops are sandstones of Eifel age, the caves are  erosional caves or  suffosional pseudokarst.
