The Cave Bar was formerly known as Stranger than Paradise. It was a music pub or disco, playing mostly alternative music. In summer 2010 it was closed, renovated and then reopened with a new management. It has new toilets and new furniture, and a bar with a wide selection of beer, wine, cocktails and spirits. Only the music has worsened: they now play ambience, lounge, and chill out music.
The bar is located on the hill of Skali, above the city quarter of Aglantzia. The outdoor seating area offers a nice view, while the indoor part of the bar is located inside the hill. The cavern was cut artificially, probably a former quarry for rocks, with rough walls and rough but almost horizontal ceiling. Holes and cracks in the walls are used to place tea lights and candles, so the interiour becomes cavernous yet cosy.
