The tombs at this place form a high number of underground structures, covering a rather huge area. They were built during the days of the Cypriot city-kingdoms. Despite the name they were not only for kings, but for members of the Ptolemaic aristrocracy. The name was given to them because of some very well decorated tombs, which even have doric pillars.
