The lava caves of the lava field between Þingvellir and Laugarvatn are the destination of this spelunking tour. The tour is not very difficult, but it requires old and warm clothes, good shoes, helmet, and lamps. Overall, gloves, helmet and headlamp are provided if necessary. There are no trails in the cave, so it is necessary to walk on the rough cave floor with debris and sharp lava. But the tubes are generally almost horizontal and there are no climbs. This is a daytrip which includes a lot of walking, the tour through the cave takes about four hours.
