The Crvena Stijena Archaeological Site is a huge cavern with a 24m wide and 25m high portal at 700m asl. The single chamber is 15m deep, so while it is actually closed to the public, it is easy to see the whole cave from the entrance. The site was first excavated between 1954 and 1964 and revealed 31 cultural layers. The sediments were between 20m and 30m thick, which makes it one of the richest archaeological sites in Europe.
