The Mining Museum of South Tyrol maintains several museums and show mines in South Tyrol. This area on the southern side of the Alps has many different geological formations, the dolomitic limestones of the Dolomites and the crystalline rocks of the central alps. But the most interesting features for the mining are ore veins formed during the alpine orogeny.
