Kermanshah Province


Kermanshah Province has a rich Palaeolithic heritage, remains of this era were were excavated in numerous caves, in Bisetun and north of Kermanshah. Bisetun Cave is famous for the first Neanderthal remains discovered in Iran. Other famous sites with Middle Paleolithic remains are Do-Ashkaft, Kobeh, Warwasi, and Mar Tarik. The Neolithic site at Ganj Dareh revealed the earliest evidence for goat domestication.
