Geology

Description

Oroszlány Mining Museum is located at the former mining plant No 16. The machinery of the elevator engine house and switch gear, the depression house and the shaft tower, the ventilation engine house and the compressor house are part of the museum. The building are used for various exhibition of mining machinery, tools and flags, miners uniforms and minerals. There is no real underground tour but a mock mine which shows all the machinery.

This museum is a brach of the Central Museum of Mining in Sopron. It concentrates on Hungarian coal mining in the second half of the 20th century.
