The former limestone quarries at the small village Loches were once used to mine rock for buildings. Later the underground passages were used to grow mushrooms. Today they are used as an underground gallery with sculptures of modern art and modern dance performances. The site is also open as a sort of mining museum showing the old techniques to quarry the rocks by hand with diaramas.
