History

Description

The Cueva de Adsubia (Adsubia Cave) is named after the nearby village Adsubia or L'Atzúbia. It is also known as Cueva de Canalobres, but this name is often mixed up with another show cave near Busot in the Cabeçó d´Or. While pretty small, obviously the shortest show cave cave in the region, it nevertheless has high passages with a wealth of speleothems and is noted for its beauty. The main chamber has an area of 600 m². The cave is entered through a horizontal passage, then a single chamber is reached. The trail goes down the sloped floor on one side of the chamber and returns back up on the other side. There are three platforms, at the top, at the bottom, and half way up on the way back.

The cave is also known as Cueva del Tossal del Llop and was once part of the now abandoned camping ground Area Recreativa Tossal del Llop. As a result the cave has no regular open hours any more, visits are only possible on sundays after former arrangement with the municipality. The cave is located in the Urbanisation les Bassetes, a suburb of L'Atzúbia, at the end of the first road to the right.
