Description
Kunming Natural History Museum of Zoology is a totally new museum, which
opened its doors first in November 2006.
Its displays are a good introduction into the incredible diversity of fauna of
Southwest China.
This obviously includes palaeontological displays and various connections with
caves and findings from caves.
But th museum also offers a true cave experience.
The Rainforest Adventure walks visitors along a path through synthetic
trees, bird calls and a dark cave.
The museum was made using modern multimedia technology, including flat-screen
TVs and touchable exhibit guides.
The displays are both in Chinese and English, probably in the hope to draw
foreign tourists to the museum.
Kunming is the capital of southwest China's Yunnan province, and a major tourist
city in China.
