| 1974 | tunnel opened, road closed. |
The Zügenschlucht is a three kilometre long gorge formed by the river Landwasser. Once the road from Davos to Filisur, the Zügenstrasse, ran along the northern wall of the gorge. In 1974 a tunnel was opened, and the road became obsolete. It is today in a certain state of disrepair, but may be used by hikers and bicycles. The best possibility for a visit is a start at the Schmelzboden mining museum. From here the trail is marked as a geologic trail.
