The city of Pleven, located at the northern border of Bulgaria towards Romania, has a new sight: an underground museum of wine, The exhibition includes a wide range of wines, from exceptionally expensive to moderate prises. More than 6000 wines are on display, between 30 and 100 years old, some 4000 are from all wine growing areas of Bulgaria. The history of vine growing and wine making in Bulgaria is explained by historians from the regional history museum. And the exhibition is completed by wine tasting and a wide range of wines which are sold.
The museum is located in the cellars of Kailaka park, and was created by Plamen Petkov, the owner of the winery Chateau Kailaka. His wines are said to be full, well balanced, and with big potential on the world market.
