The underground passages of the village Philippeville, called simply souterrains de Philippeville, were created during the 17th century to connect the fortress outposts with the main precints. There are 10 kilometres of passages, about 500m are open to the public. The visitors are first introduced into the history of the town and the region with a threelingual movie. Then the passaged are visited.
