Burgenland

The Burgenland is the region at the eastern border of Austria towards Austria. It is 166km long from north to south, but only a few kilometers wide. The borderland is located east of the Alps, it is only between 100m and 900m high. Much of its area is belonging to the Hungarian plains. The region is not suitable for caves and does not have ore deposits. As a result there are few underground sites.
